Right (Trail) Wrist Cock
I've been working on trying to keep the bend of my right wrist (as at impact fix setup) frozen during the swing. I'm having lots of troubledoing so, and the right wrist is cocking at the top. I try to start the downswing, but I feel immediate power loss. I hit weak slices. It is destroying my swing. Any suggestions on how to stop it?

Keep your attention on your HANDS,("mind in your hands") as Ben Doyle would say.

If you are a Swinger with a fairly fast beat to your swing, this may take a while to learn. Some people have a "downswing blackout," making it difficult to monitor things.

Some FEEL as if the wrist is not cocked at the TOP, or END, when it actually is, but is cocked only in the Left Wrist, as it ideally should be. You may have to develop a new feeling for this part of your swing.

Keep a light #3 Pressure Point, and monitor that along with the HANDS.

Start with short little shots, and work up to big shots.

You may find it helpful to do "eyes closed" rehearsal swings.

Also, try starting at Address, (Flat Right/mid-body hands) and move into the Bent Right Wrist during Start Up. I believe Mr. Kelley says it is easier to move into a position than to hold a position.

Thanks. I'll give these a try on the range tomorrow. Also, could you define "light" #3 pressure point? Does that mean to always feel it (be aware of it)?

I have struggled with this, make sure you have the proper set up where your left wrist is bent/level/vertical, and right wrist is flat/level/vertical

If you have the book it is very important to know what LEVEL actually looks like. Check out the pics in Chapter 4. Learn to float your LEVEL right wrist on a Horizontal Plane (chest high) and then drop it down on the Inclined Plane.

Hit chips and pitches while actually WATCHING your hands and not the ball.

In addition, a strong dose of Extensor Action will help you maintain the Level alignment. You don't want your right wrist flappin' around.

Practice at impact address, raising and lowering your right forearm to cock and uncock your Left wrist without cocking or flattening your right wrist.
