Flywheel Question
Is it ok for someone to think about the right shoulder spinning like a flywheel? I sure hit some great shots feeling that motion. Do other swinger practice this motion?

A Swing Thought That Won the U.S. Open

Thanks for your Private Message, Nathan. I'm glad you were able to draw some inspiration (and a positive Swing thought) from my Hitting versus Swinging video ("spin...spin...spin the flywheel").

You have asked if others have used that thought with success, and I am pleased to report that the answer is...

Yes!

Larry Nelson won the U.S. Open at Oakmont thinking almost exclusively of using his Right Shoulder aggressively through the Ball. He told me it was "the greatest feeling" to just do that and then "look up and see the ball flying straight toward the target."

Must be a pretty good swing thought!

Would you classify Mr. Larry Nelson as a HITTER or SWINGER?

I did a search on Larry Nelson... and Mr. Yoda lists him as a HITTER.

I was thinking he is a HITTER, but did not quite know why he was put in a topic dealing with FLYWHEEL. His right shoulder is a LAUNCHING PAD.

Maybe Mr. Yoda will explain.

Hmmmm if Yoda says he is a hitter than he must be. To my eye he looked like a swinger, but I am certainly not expert, well not yet.
