knee/leg/foot action & takaway
I had a couple of aha! moments this past week and my consistency/accuracy has been very, very good (for me). I have 2 key problems at the moment. They aren't big or regular problems, and I've been able to "fix" them, but I'm curious if my fixes are compensations.
1) Thin shots. I think an aggressivly straightening left leg is causing this one. At least when I think about maintaining my left knee flex longer, my posture and rultant shot is much better. I've also had success thinking about keeping my right foot down and anchored through impact. I know the book says that the knees are never supposed to lock, just curious if an aggressive right leg drive can straighten the left leg.
2) Pulls & shanked pitches or little 1/2 shots. I *think* Edz's "lift and roll" idea + weight getting towards my right toes on the takeaway is causing a sway/bob/OTT move. This one is much more frustrating than the thin shots, but concentrating on my weight moving to my right heel + hitting the inside-aft seems to help.

Not sure why, but my thin shots are the result of an outside takeaway. Brian and i figured this out last time i went to see him.
Just something to think about

Don't forget to use impact fix, it can be a great tool for resolving alignment issues and for learning how to support impact more fully.

I've been starting from fix, actually.
The leg thing is a deviation from where I am at fix - that's how I identified that for the thin hits. At least it made sense to me - striaghtening leg = body goes up.
The compensation I'm working on is weird, and I have no idea why I started doing this whenever it started. I tend to lift my hands/arms outside/too steep, then pull it back inside and onto the turned shoulder plane. OK for full shots, but when i get stuck in the middle of the compensation things go bad.
