Importance of a Quiet Lower Body
Lynn/Ted or anybody else for that matter, can you talk about the importance of a quiet lower body for a hitter. Today I was struggling the first 5-6 holes and then started focusing on really quieting the lower body and bingo, much straighter ball flight.

Why is the quiet lower body so important for the hitter??

Subtraction
Per 3-A Never move anything unnecessarily, nor farther than necessary but allow for psychological needs and preferences too

A lot of time you will find that in fixing your Machine you must SUBTRACT motion not add it. For instance, going from a Right Wrist that Cocks to a Right Wrist that is LEVEL, from a Right Forearm that is off-plane at Address to a Right Forearm Flying Wedge with its Forearm in the Plane of the Clubshaft. If your lower body is moving then odds are that your low point is moving all over the place. Also if your lower body stays "quiet", you probably are producing more Pivot Lag as well.

"Quiet" lower body, as a result of the pivot lag counteracting against the clubhead lag, to me, means "lagged", tensed, balanced, synchronized, stabilized, compact and rigid, which can provide steady power and solid support for launching the right side power in "hitting". It's equally important in "swinging".

YOU load and sustain the "LAG", during which the "LAW" releases it, ideally beyond impact.
"Sustain (Yang/陽) the lag (Yin/陰)" is "the unification of Ying and Yang" (陰陽合一).
The "LAW" creates the "effect", which is the "motion" or "feel", with the "cause", which is the "intent" or "command".
"Lag" is the secret of golf, passion is the secret of life.
Think as a golfer, execute like a robot.
Rotate, twist, spin, turn.
Bend the shaft.

To me quiet lowerbody is somewhat counterintuitive to what you read about the lower body starting the swing. So many articles talk about firing the hips. Maybe with a quiet lower body you're still firing the hips, just not actively thinking about it.

Hmmm...a true 3 barrel hitting motion with a quiet lower body...see the first paragraph of 2-K.
