I've been experimenting the past couple of days with a hitting action rather than my normal swinging action. I may be alone in this but I personally find it easier to keep the left wrist flat by hitting rather than swinging. I also really like the accuracy (the ball just refuses to curve), and I LOVE the ballflight...VERY powerful without being super low (the sound at impact is better as well). I had two guys near me at the range muttering "wow" under their breath as I was striking 8 irons into a Texas wind.
So here's my question, as someone who could top 125-130mph swinging (as measured on a SpeedStick and a swingspeed monitor), what would you say would be the upper limit of what I can expect hitting? My swing (or hit I guess) felt very short, so there may be some lengthening I can do, but I was consisently in the 105-109 range with the Speedstick. Not horrible, but I'd like to keep the distance loss to a minimum.
My hitting is more self tought than not, and I have a lot of knowledge regarding swinging, but much less in the realm of hitting. Does anyone know of someone in the Dallas/Ft Worth that would be a good instructor for hitting?
