In Memoriam -- Sally Kelley
Sally Kelley, widow of Homer Kelley, passed away in her sleep on March 24, 2006, at the age of 93. She had last week suffered a minor stroke that left her alert but unable to speak. More details will be forthcoming as they are made available.

I'm sure Homer's happy to have her home. I'm sure she put up with a lot during those 42 years of writing. So, she was a big contributor of time, to the book that we hold dear. I'm glad she let Homer pursue his dream.

Sally Kelley Obituary
Rosella M. KELLEY Born on July 1, 1912, in Fountain, Minnesota. Rosella Kelley (known to friends and family as "Sally") passed away on March 24, 2006 at the age of 93. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Kelley, to whom she was married 28 years. Sally lived in Minnesota and Hawaii before moving to Seattle in 1953. In Minneapolis, she worked at the Radisson and Leamington Hotels as assistant to the catering manager. During World War II, she worked for the military in Hawaii. After the war, Sally owned and operated a gift shop at the Kauai Inn, then became manager of the Kauai Yacht Club. In Seattle, Sally worked for 18 years as a bookkeeper for the Merrill and Ring Division of the R.D. Merrill Company. She was an active member of Executive Women International (EWI). Sally married Homer Kelley in 1955. Following Homer's death, Sally continued to run the golf instruction business based on Homer's book, The Golfing Machine. In 2003, Sally moved to Merrill Gardens at Northgate, where she spent her remaining years. She was pleased to learn that Merrill Gardens was owned by the R.D. Merrill Company, for which she worked for many years. Sally enjoyed the new friends and activities at Merrill Gardens, including bridge, art class, the exercise program, yoga, and the companionship of her beloved cat, Princess. Sally was a longtime member of the Christian Science Church. Sally is survived by her sister, Irene Jensen; nieces, Virginia Ladsen (Kurt) and JoAnn Drummond; and nephew, Philip Specht, all of Rochester, Minnesota; cousins, Robert and Anne Timm, of Marysville; and extended family, Cindy McRae and Milton (Angela) Seaman, of British Columbia. Viewing will be Saturday, April 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services, Sunday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m., both at Acacia Funeral Home.

That is sad to hear. Death is one of the things that doesnt get any easier the more you see it or experience it, rather it can just make you feel more numb. But we can take comfort in the fact that without death, life would not be so precious.
