Lightning Struck the Camel and Atlanta's Burning!
Koolaid Sippers . . .

Bucket went on a little field trip on Monday and Tuesday. I actually sold something at work and had to make a b-line for Hotlanta. I had a chance to make a stop or two along the way.

First stop . . . Walkin' Like a Camel with David Orr aka Annikan Skywalker aka NAT aka Grand Master Flash of Chapter 10. David was conducting a Short Game School and I was fortunate enough to be in attendance. I learned a ton of good stuff from D. He is full to the brim with knowledge and enthusiasm for G.O.L.F. and the Darkside. D is a hell of a teacher and can hit shots. Guys . . . this dude can top your best flop shot . . . with a 2 iron!!! Amazing. He lobs the 2 iron and it comes down soft like a butterfly with sore feet pimp struttin' on hot black tar.

D is a full sensory teacher boys. He's got sweat bands to illustrate the forearm positions. We had people standing up on chairs to see the 2-J-3 geometry. He was puttin' duct tape on people. D put me in a chair and spun me round'n'round. Then I was instructed to move my arms and legs in and out. I was soo damn dizzy! Gyratin'!

A major thunderstorm cut things short unfortunately. We ended in D's studio (which is cool as hell). Lightning was striking and people were countin' down thunder and stuff. I was fearful that the metal plate in my head had put us in extreme danger. If I were to be struck by lightning I figured it would be in a church and not a golf studio though.

Stop Number 2 . . . Marietta Golf Center to do a drive-by on Dr. Collards and The Hit Doctor Teddy Ballgame. I showed up in GA about 8. And who would be on the lesson tee but the Lil' Green Man (LGM) himself with Rob Noel in tow. I rudely interrupted the lesson and to a seat to observe and soak up the Yellow Koolaid Gamma Rays. Boys Yoda is AMAZING! Everybody is playing for a distant 2nd in a TGM Jeopardy Contest. "Uh I'll take MAXIMUM COMPRESSION fo a hun Alex! Hold my drank! It's a celebration!"

Yoda was teaching this kid how to weild his Left Arm Flying Wedge by dropping the hammer down hard. This kid was a MONSTER too. His arms were as big as my legs. He had a definite physical presence. I've been told that before too but I think the guy was trying to nicely tell me I was a fatass. Anyway. . . . Yoda was holding court and quickly diagnosed the young man's fault. The culprit an ARCHED Left Wrist which didn't allow the full DOWNWARD dimension and Full-Lever Extension. Yoda shows the old geometric Flat Left Wrist at Top which looks "a little cuppy." And wham divots are flying all over the place.

Yoda had a little gem for ole Bucket too. I had gotten sloppy in my Address routine. He got me on the Doyle toe-the-line routine and establishing the proper left shoulder/low point relation via the placement of the feet. I hit balls until 10 and ball go high. Bucket happy.

Stop 3 . .. Next day work meeting. I brown nose and tell lies for an hour. Then back to Marietta Golf Center for a quick lesson with Luke. Ted FortKnocks Rocks boys. This dude knows his Machine. We talked some major Delivery Lines . . . particularly the Angle of Approach. He put me on the slow mo. I think that crap about the camera adding ten pounds is a conspiracy. I mean I know I look more like Brad Pit than that. Anyway . . . Bucket's Zone 3 = Good. Bucket's Zone 1 = Bad. My stationary post is broke like Willie Nelson after a tax audit. Ted put my lesson on a DVD. Looked at it again tonight. AWESOME!!!! Ted told me about how Mr. K would "build his swing around his Right Elbow." This is HUGE. Maybe he can shed some light for y'all on this.

Just before makin' the trail dusty who should show up but . . . our faithful friend Bagger. Knew it was him before he opened his pie hole. The cowboy boots were a dead giveaway. It was good to meet him. Everybody out here owes one to Bagger for all his hard work. He's a hell of a nice guy. Thanks dude! It was nice meeting him. Unfortunately had to get back to Nawth Cackalacka and had to boot skoot boogie.

Bottom line . . . G.O.L.F. is in good hands. Bagger, David Orr, Lynn Blake, and Ted Fort are too damn good for words. And they are even better guys. You couldn't ask for a nicer more generous bunch of cats. Their sincerity, passion and caring are second to none.

Thanks to all!!! Hope to do it again soon.

Next stop . . . Augusta on Thursday. Pretty good week.
