question on backswing and action of right wrist
after receiving some great instruction from Rob a couple of weeks ago i am now in the time of questioning everything and nit picking over everything. the question i have is dealing with the wrist and if you do the flying wedges exercised with the wooden dowels then the right wrist more the less cocks to the right while the forearm never really rolls over any and as for the right forearm in order to get the club on plane then i feel like there is hardly any rolling over of the left forearm to get in this position. i have some video of VJ and this is the position he is in at the top. but from this position i am now hitting a small pull that my body makes me hold onto the face angle to get the ball to go somewhere towards the hole. and the next question is in order for me to the the club back to the ball from an inside approach angle then i must feel the elbow stick into my side similar to hogan. Is this normal or am i making an extra move somewhere. thanks for all the help to all and Lynn this is a great site..

Sounds like it may be time to go back to your pro. It is fairly normal for TGMers to start thinking about things. Someone NEW to this should especially be careful during these early stages. Get the FEEL vs. REAL items straightened out in your mind... and with your FEEL. Develop good habits right from the start.

The RIGHT WRIST by the way... according to nearly all TGM Instructors SHOULD NOT COCK, it only Bends. The Left Wrist Cocks in an UP and DOWN manner, but not the Right.

Once you LEARN what to do... your thinking should be very simple, especially when PLAYING.

thanks lagster i actually think i have answered my own question with the help of my reflection in a window outside and also with the help of some of lynns videos. and the action i was talking about is when if the hands are in front of your body connected together like taking a grip in the air then the left wrist and right cock immediatly to the right and the left wrist forms a 90 with the left forearm and this is the result of the extremely low ballflight in the last tournament and all the pulls. its so funny that i could make 11 birdies in 22 holes and which that consisted of 5 in 7 holes in a practice round at a course i have never seen and the others at our teams home course. must have been my days because i posted 80 and 81 the following 2 days and hit the ball horrible.. thanks for all the help and hope to continue passing along the word to all i know.
