Larry Nelson, 58, three time major winner and Georgia native was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame. Nelson will join Henry Picard, two time major winner, from Massachusetts in golf's most honored celebration.
Glad he got in. Seems to be a great golfer who somehow manages to fly under the radar all the time---like being passed-over for Ryder Cup captain. Did he work with Yoda???
Larry Nelson is an amazing golfer. I pretty sure he did not even play golf until he was in his twenties. I believe he was in the Army when he started playing... probably on one of those mulitary courses.
After just a few years in the game, he went to Q-school. I'm fairly certain he made it on his first try. He actually learned to play tournament golf on the P.G.A. Tour.
He went on to win tour events... including majors. He is now playing on the P.G.A. Senior Tour. I understand he is also a very nice man.
