I'm working on the concepts of hitting. I'm hitting rocket lasers with my driver. I'm focusing on a short as possible backswing. That really enables me to truly drive at the ball. My problem has been that lately I've hit a few too many irons a little chunky. I've felt my body slide a little toward the target(an old bad habit) on a few of the misses. I don't know if that is a contributing or sole factor. Help anyone?

Sliding forwards on the downswing is more likely to cause you to thin the ball or just plain skull it.
Flipping the right wrist in an attempt to add power to the shorter swing is probably your bete noir.
