My progress with TGM
Hi guys, here is a video of my swing and some changes i've been making before and after since May this year.

Having a few issues hitting the driver at the moment (topping etc...coming a bit too much underplane now i think as i've been trying to get the OTT move out of my system) but the irons are coming along good.

Feedback welcome!

Nice Improvement
Nice Improvement!

That last swing- looked pretty good- the glaring issue was the follow-through finish motion of the left arm bending before the swivel.

Three Recommendations For Bergsey

Bergsey,

Referencing the October Stroke, here are three areas that need work:

1. Address Position. There is too much 'Forward Lean' in the Driver's Clubshaft. The Hands appear too far ahead (outside the left thigh) and the Ball appears too far back.

2. Downstroke Hip Turn. Your Downstroke Hip Slide is excessive. There should be enough to lateral motion to effect the Weight Shift, but no more. Then, the Hip Turn must revolve the Body. That is not happening in your Stroke. Remember, the Golf Stroke is a Gyroscopic Action. You must Turn the Axis. Think 'revolving door' and you will come much closer to the correct action.

3. Finish Swivel. The amount you currently have is not permitting the correct Overtaking of the Hands by the Club. Bear in mind that your ability to execute the correct Swivel will be closely related to the improvement you make in your Downstroke Hip Turn.

Thanks for the feedback.

I went to the range today and experimented a bit with the setup, sorted out the excessive forward lean but most importantly setup with my head a bit further behind the ball and with more axis tilt. Preset the right hip and wow it was amazing i was hitting my longest drives ever and felt a lot of rotation instead of a big lateral slide.

Seems like setting up with more tilt helped ensure i didn't get stuck and i could swing it on plane better. Is this a good thing or just something that may be short lived?

Cheers

If you move the Ball forward as I recommended above, you won't have to move your Head back.

And your current major problem on the Downstroke is excessive Hip Slide causing excessive Axis Tilt. Why would you want to encourage that situation at Address?

I suggest you spend a lot of time in Basic and Acquired Motion. Assemble your Stroke Components in the order listed, and you will replace the vagueness of tired bromides -- "Get your head behind the ball" -- with the precision alignments of The Golfing Machine. The roadmap is there, and it will save you endless hours of fruitless agony in what Hogan called "the labyrinth of your own making."
