Interesting training aid - SwingPerfect
Some pretty cool technology, a device that clips onto the shaft below the grip. There is a level and/or gyroscope type device inside that makes the club 'vibrate' when you are off plane - instant feedback.
It teaches the same feels as the medicus and momentus - a pure "swinger's" motion. Startup swivel and 'fanning' are clear - to "toe up" position. I have the pro model, which has pretty tight tolerences, really keeps a "swingers" motion on track.
I'd love to see one based on a "hitter's" motion as well, could prove to be a very powerful technology for learning.
After some shipping "fun", thanks to UPS, they threw in a "grip mentor", which is a surprisingly decent aid, very much a 'hogan' grip, with clear PP#3 feel.

Hi Edz,
This looks like an interesting aid from the website. I had a round and a practice session yesterday, and on a few swings felt really 'planed' (in some ways this was good, but in others bad, because it shows how off plane I must usually be!). It seems much easier to generate lag when you find the right plane (and what a heavy beautiful feeling it is!), plus of course you can hit it straight! Hence my interest in this device.
Can you explain the plane as 'sensed' by the training aid (I find it hard to imagine how a device could do this) - is it plane as in one end of the club always points at the target line (except when the shaft is parallel to the ground and planeline), or is it some other variant. If using this could you use a single shift, or does it require double shift and so on? Also, on the site it talks about the toe hanging down at the top. Do they mean wide open, or something more usual (in line with the left arm/wrist)?
Thanks for your help,
Chris

Got one too
I have the swingperfect pro too. I have to agree that this is for swingers and not hitters. I like it because it does tell me when I cross over at the top (which I can't see on the range) and you can hit balls with it. I do find that it does tend to buzz a bit at set up (don't know why) and won't if you get to the parallel toe up position on backswing. Then to top and if you are parallel to line it won't buzz (otherwise, buzz away). On follow through, slow speed, it won't buzz if parallel at waist high (toe up, horizonal hinging) but will using angled or vertical hinge actions.
All in all, very interesting toy. I did put it on my laser club to see how close it was to the "real" plane I practice in the house and it is suprisingly accurate. On at mid back, top, and mid follow through.
Don't know how it works but I use it just before practice and just after to work on my position at the top of my backswing. It has certainly helped me for that reason. I would probably recommend the regular over the pro because the tolerances are really, really tight on the pro and it took me a while to get it to not buzz which was a little frustrating.
