If i am laid off halfway back , should i feel like i point the butt end of the grip of the shaft between my feet and target line till this is fixed?

You may FEEL like that happens, but why not do some mirror work and learn the correct feel of being on plane. Learn Feel from Mechanics not mechanics from feel!!!

Use some flashlights or some lasers to trace a straight plane line and just start tracing the correct plane so you don't have to learn later.

I have a habit of getting too flat and i just trace a straight plane line and i'm better after a little practice.
