Rushed home from church. (Couldn't understand why the Pastor wasn't giving Master updates during the Message for today) DiMarco goes double, bogey, bogey, bogey during finishing up the 3rd round. Woods just kind of held on. Woods -11, Dimarco -8.
Maybe the Sunday flags aren't as charitable as usual. Woods is tough to catch with a lead. CBS execs have probably already opened the bourbon. They may make up all the ratings they lost to the weather in one day. I'll be watching, and so will the wife. She's a Woods fan and an insufferable frontrunner.
Thanks for the update. Stunning. Tiger was -9 for the round after 13. -1 in from there would have been a 62, i.e. Masters (and course?) record. Instead he shot +2 on 14-18. Would have liked to see Tiger and Phil head to head, but still anything can happen, including a playoff between the two.
It is still open, but Tiger definetely made a statement!
I hope Tiger does not run away with it to early. If it is possible to do that.
Now we're down to it. The back nine on Sunday. Bye, bye to Phil on #12. No possibility of anything but a 2 man race. DiMarco is really hangin' tough. Picked up one on both 10 and 11. DiMarco has to keep the faith on the big drive holes. Sometimes his rhythm gets off with the driver and his hinge craps up. He rolls and turns it left, or holds it vertical and hits a high puff ball slightly right.
I was happy to see DiMarco have a great round. If not for a couple of putts here and there it could have been his.
But....Tiger was not going to let a second chance to make a winning putt slip by.
Awesome battle!
I hear ya. DiMarco just won a little bit less than Woods today. That's the only way I can put it.
He doesn't make 'em all, but you are tempting fate everytime you put the outcome in Woods' hands.
OT: Does anybody want to send a group letter to Woods re: "Those spinning hips....You don't need them Tiger!" On one hole today he made a smooth bump and turn with them and hit it 330.
