The truth in teaching. God knows how Ben Doyle must feel.
Ben Doyle is feeling pretty good about the international TGM scene about now: He's presently preaching the TGM word in Australia! He'll be back on May 9th. He left his Lesson Book open in the Pro Shop at The Golf Club at Quail Lodge in Carmel, and I'm sure he'll have a long line of 'patients' when he returns. Still, maybe we can get some scoop from him once the dust has settled.
LBG will put up soon two videos featuring Ben, including a brilliant segment where he teaches Chip, Pitch, Punch and Full Swing, his inimitable routine for learning G.O.L.F. and the Flat Left Wrist. Meanwhile, learn more about Ben by visiting his website at www.bendoylegolf.com/about_ben_1.htm .
Like Mathew said, give us enough notice so that we can save up for it
Meanwhile I will be scoping St Andrews out on Friday. Playing 36 holes there (Dukes and the New) Hopefully the weather will play nice......

The last time I was in Sweden was ten years ago. I do know though, that every other Golf Association in Europe was full of envy for what became known as the "Swedish System". From Matts Lanner onwards. By the way what is Ove Sellberg up to?
I heard somewhere that a "full team" of Swedish top instructors (probably Pia Nilsson et al) spent significant time with Ben Doyle years ago. If i remember correctly that should be "pre-Lanner". Might well be that Ben provided major contributions to what later became known as the "Swedish System"? Guess the "system" is well applied on the more competitive juniors etc, but what I lack is that so many fanatic non-competing golfers have never get access to the fundamentals.
From my (limited) horizon Ove Sellberg is a frequent golf TV commentary, promoting various golf products and coaching junior teams. I do not know what his main occupation is.
These are hard questions and I am just any golfer... It'll be interesting to know Henning in Destin. I guess he has the story & it'll be very interesting to hear whats going on with his presentations.
Yes, the " Swedish System" was directed at junior golf and as far as I am aware, was responsible for the remarkable rise of Sweden as a force in Europe.
Matts Lanner won on the European tour as early as 1982 if I remember correctly.
Enjoy the" Bash".
This is great news, I am a Teaching Pro based in London and have been asking for a long time for some sort of TGM event in Europe, I am spending 4 days with Chuck in Mesa next week, but it is a long way from home for me, Yoda, maybe we can get the British PGA to put some article on their website, pm me if you think it would be worthwile.
I'd love to see people frequenting this forum have a chance to file an earlybird registration just before "rest of world" gets the announcement.
Maybe more an indication of how I feel about it than realistic, but I'll go with this prediction:
- All slots taken within 2 week after announcement
- Number of registered forum members doubled within 2 week after announcement (if earlybirds have to register here).
