How do you CHECK your trail shoulder is moving downplane?
I understand that the trail shoulder should move down plane from start down. How do you CHECK with precision that it is truly moving downplane ? I was asked this question today by a friend of mine that just missed getting through first stage tour school and did not have a conclusive answer.

Hey Hue had the same question myself.....

The best thought on the subject I could come up with is that the since the pivot is power package support and as homer says in 1-L your hands are adjustable clamps moved by the pivot and the bending right arm, your hands tracing the delivery line that as long as you transport your hands correctly you have no option but to move it downplane correctly.

But im shooting in the dark also.... I would be very interested in training the downstroke zone 1 motion - because im very sure that mine isn't fully correct....

The Feel Check is to turn the Shoulder directly toward the Ball.

The Reality Check is Ball Response.

In between, there is video.

Carpe Diem.

A setup I heard about through galopin(?) and which he got from from ldeit(?) comes to mind:

Put a video camera DTL and connect it to a TV in front of you on the floor. Tilt the TV up so that you can see it from your setup - looking straight ahead. Draw a plane line with a whyteboard marker on the screen. Now swing slowly as you look-look-look at your turning shoulder in relation to the line.

Camera and TV
I have both of these , but haven't a clue how to connect the 2 to make this happen

What cables are needed and where or what (ports/plugs) do those connect to?

I should ask my 10 year old son, he probably already knows how to do it!!

directly to the ball but.... downward directly to the ball. I was sending the top of my shoulder more outward then down. OTT
my feel is now the back bottom of the shoulder sliding downward- it keeps the top shoulder from racing ahead.

Hue, would the right forearm tracing the plane line keep the right should on plane, too?

This might do it:
1. Set the camera in camera mode
2. Find a cable that enters the camera and has a small yellow plug on the other end.
3. Connect the yellow plug to the TV
4. Select AUX or LINE IN or something like that as TV source.
5. You are cooking
