I think we big guys don't look as smooth as our lean counterparts. Arnie never looked like Hogan, Stadler never was mistaken for Tom Weiskopf. The lean always had a disposition to Swing while big barrel Joes Hit. Mike Adams based his LAWS book on this- incomplete at best.
But the geomtery of the stroke is the same, its aplication of power- the physics is different.
The best example of a 'hitter' who really 'swung' the club well, and perhaps the best swing ever IMO -

The difference between hitting and swinging is not how the club moves, it is how you support its movement.
All efficient motion is smooooooth. Hitters who are not smooth aren't as efficient with their motion. You can't be a swinger and get away with 'jerky' motion, hitters get a bit more margin for error, but the goal should be the same.
