Tom Tomasello's component.
I am under the impression Tom's swing is the Right forearm swing and if not properly executed will hurt the right elbow. So what is the key of execution without hurting the right elbow?

And hands during impact: He mentioned Fire to Undo the bend of the right wrist. what exactly does it do? And undoing the bend of right wrist , is it important for horizontal hinge ? does it happen in every Swing? Does it affect Roll during impact?

Thanks in advance.

Mark Evershed has made the comment that hitting up will cause problems with the elbow...the only time I experienced pain in the right elbow is when I tried to use downstroke loading with a pitch basic motion by trying increase the right elbow bend.

Nuke99,

In Real Estate it's Location, Location, Location....in TGM it's Interpretation, Interpretation, Interpretation...in the Australia video series the key word for correct interpretation is "TRY" to unbend the right wrist...in the video Tommy is saying you can't undo the bend if you "ALLOW" the left hip to rotate at release...if you stop the left hip the hands will break down and you will generate clubhead throwaway. The motion of the right forearm is up and down per 7-3. "ALWAYS, for all procedures, the Right Forearm is positioned "On Plane" ---pointing at the Plane Line as the Angle of Attack (2-N). The On Plane Right Forearm shows the precise up-and-down direction it and the Clubshaft must take throughout the Stroke (2-J-3)." For those of you who have the Tomasello interview, reference page 52 of the interview and how Tommy's description of the right forearm motion sync's up with 7-3.

PM me with your regular email address and I will send you a copy of Tomasello's 1991 GI interview. I believe that interview will clear up your confusion.

BTW, Mark Evershed has made the comment that hitting up will cause problems with the right elbow...the only time I experienced pain in the right elbow is when I tried to use downstroke loading with a pitch basic motion by trying to increase the right elbow bend. Other than that, no problems at all. I even use weighted clubs during practice sessions, especially during the winter months.

Tom Tom ..
Delaware Golf.

Thank you for clearing that up.I must have misinterpreted some posts about Tom's method. I got so many questions.. !

Also why he setup with a Uncocked left wrist in a push basic chip/pitch stroke?

Is Tom using the Push basic and push stroke? He mentioned push it down even on acquired and total motion. So I think tom doesn't teach a swing, instead teaches a variation of hit as he actively drives through the ball ( pressing/pushing the right forarms down and out )And its drive loading instead of drag loading. Thus not really making full use of CF ? I am of course assuming from what i see in the video. So please clarify.

He mentioned Unbending of the right wrist at impact , though its not possible to unbend them if u are doing it correct . I am having some problems with this one, because If you bend as much right wrist during takeaway ( more than the impact fix requires), in impact you need to unbend in order to retain the correct radius of the swing . So the right amount of bend of the right wrist in the start up swivel without the need to unbend is approximately when the clubshaft is in line with the left arm, which is impact fix . And also My theory is, some unbending will aid with Horizontal hinging required in the drive load Tom is teaching.

So . you see, i become even more confused.. Please help me Mr. David.
