I have returned to hitting for 2009, and havebeen experinceinggreat succes, love the structure you get from the adress possition using impact fix.
I have however after three days of long practice sessions begun to experince quite a bit of pain in my right elbow. I know that this means I am swinging with my right arm with the elbow replacing the left shoulder as the swing center. Are there any commen pitfalls that may be causing this to happen
I am currently not sure if I should be using bat vs punch basic major stroke. I I have been using bat, and messing with punch. Is there any definable advantages to either, bat seems more structured, and also seems to have more defense against right arm swinging.

Hitting is easy with the magic of the right forearm with the bat. Just make sure you have the right elbow position a little out when setting your impact fix alignments. (Miller Barber)
I had to shut my game down for a few days for fear of getting tennis elbow or tendonities in my right elbow, but went out yesterday and played with the bat shot 3 under hitting the ball as straight as I ever have before.
Can one still use the bat elbow possition if I am trying to use a the hitters four barrel pattern? The bat seemes to create alot less shoulder turn than punch basic.
Also when hitting I use the impact fix adress so should the hands just begin moving imediatly up and in on the backswing?

Make sure you have a little space between the left upper arm and torso at set up with the bat. This will set the shoulder girdle in a position for maximum shoulder turn.
It is just the opposite of the towel in the arm pit drill. You want space so the towel would fall out. Having the upper left arm connected to the torso on the back swing reduces range of motion.
I like using TGM term start up. I always say to my students start the club head up right from the start up.

Yes.
Bat is not an elbow position, it is an arm motion, a Minor Basic Stroke.
It needs a Major, an elbow position; Pitch, Punch or Push.
Punch is the recommended choice for hitting.
10-3-0 "Major Basic Strokes are classified according to Elbow Position during the stroke and every stroke must use one of the three.
Minor basic strokes are classified according to arm motion."
10-3-K. Bat (Minor) "...when used with any Major Basic Stroke can produce full power."
Freeze the right wrist in impact fix, right forearm takeaway, feel "no roll".
You may use pivot thrust "as supplying the initial acceleration of the hitter's loaded power package." 2-M-4
The danger in carrying that too far is that centrifugal force may overtake your drive out action.
"If there is a twinge in the elbow you are swinging your right arm." 7-19
Slow start down, firm wrists, right shoulder down plane, drive right arm down, out and through.

Very nice, Loren. Your post demonstrates a solid grasp of these fundamentals. Thanks!
