I know that this means I am swinging with my right arm with the elbow replacing the left shoulder as the swing center. Are there any commen pitfalls that may be causing this to happen

I am currently not sure if I should be using bat vs punch basic major stroke. I I have been using bat, and messing with punch. Is there any definable advantages to either, bat seems more structured, and also seems to have more defense against right arm swinging.
Hitting is easy with the magic of the right forearm with the bat. Just make sure you have the right elbow position a little out when setting your impact fix alignments. (Miller Barber)
