Is anyone familar with Gary the Aussi instructor that instructs Rod Pampling and others from Australia. He calls his method "Right Sided Swinging". Is this the same as TGM's hitting?
Some should tell that you can swing with either arm. Otherwise there could be no 4 barrel swings
Thanks for this first post, Paul. As a member since June 2005, you are no stranger to our goings-on, but it is a privilege to recognize this occasion and to officially welcome you to LBG. I would also like to acquaint our membership with a bit of your history and contributions to G.O.L.F.
In The G.O.L.F. Bulletin (February 1988 ) published by The Golfing Machine, Paul was officially welcomed as a new Authorized Instructor:
Paul J. Hart, GSEM, has been a PGA Pro since 1966. He has many years as a club pro and as a golf coach. Paul plays on the Far Eastern Circuit. As an amateur, he has been his club’s champion and has also won regional championships. Paul is in Orange, New South Wales, Australia.
We learn a good deal more about Paul and his activities in this excerpt from a letter written to Sally Kelley by Jerry Stolhand, GSEM dated May 9, 1986. Homer Kelley had died three years before, and the letter was published in that same February 1988 Bulletin (in which Jerry also was recognized as a new Authorized Instructor).
Paul Hart and I found The Golfing Machine about seven years ago and have been studying and working with it ever since. As I’m sure you are aware, it was a most difficult project and we certainly got bogged down a fair few times. However, when we were at wits’ end, we called Homer and he was terrific. He sent us all the information to help us understand the gospel and was only a phone call away when we got stuck.
Paul has sold around 300 books around Australia, and we teach only from The Golfing Machine. We have held two golf schools teaching The Machine concepts with great success. However, not being Authorized Instructors could not use the name but certainly taught the information.
Our proudest moment, however, was when we attended a teaching seminar held by the Australian Professional Golfers Association at which we had the opportunity to spread the word through the professional ranks. At this time I have two or three calls a week from professionals asking for explanations about different areas of the book. Paul and I have been asked to explain The Golfing Machine at the next APGA teaching seminar which we feel would be a big breakthrough for professional golf.
It irks us for people to be called professional golfers and teach people to play golf with the limited knowledge they appear to have about the workings of the golf swing when Homer’s book is so very complete. We had the opportunity in Australia to see Ben Doyle give a clinic in Melbourne with Bobby Clampett. He was marvelous…
Paul and I have taught mostly in laymen’s terms for communicating with the masses. By that I mean instead of using ‘power accumulator one,’ we have to talk in terms of bent right arm; instead of ‘pressure point one,’ we have to refer to the heel of the right hand where it touches either the left hand thumb or clubshaft etc.
But since Homer’s book, teaching has become fun once again and playing golf has become easy. We both played the Australian, New Zealand and Far Easter circuits for several years and finally gave it in for club jobs because of our lack of knowledge for more improvement. But since The Golfing Machine, we are now playing a few tournaments again and enjoying them very much.
I credit my State Senior win and National showing directly to The Golfing Machine and could not thank Homer enough for the new lease on life that he has given me, and if there is any way I can repay the debt, please let us know.
I have been prattling along here somewhat but Paul and I are very interested in becoming Authorized Instructors. Please let us know if and how this goal can be achieved.
We both know you are on a winner and if we can give Homer the recognition for being the genius he was, we want to.

Jerry Stolhand continued to improve and later used his knowledge of Golf Stroke Mechanics to win the 1988 Australian Seniors Championship. Shortly before he was to defend that title, he was killed in an automobile accident, a tragic loss to all who knew him and to golfdom as well.
A toast to you, Paul Hart, for your life in Golf and the many accolades you have earned. It is indeed a privilege to have you with us.

I have met Paul, and he embodies the word gentleman. He has a wealth of knowledge, and if he's willing to share it here, we are all blessed. I respect him 100%.
A personal goal that I'll share with all of you:
Golf school in Australia with Paul, Yoda, and myself.
...I would stay an extra day to use a previous invitation to play Royal Melbourne.
LBG has been an pleasant and educational adventure. Gerry would have been out of his tree with excitement to have what I have now. So many smart people with such a smart book. I can only add support and my own questions. I just really agree with the way go about things.

It is very reminiscent of Homer Kelley himself. He often said that his greatest joy was the people who were attracted to his work. Paraphrased, he said:
"I don't know where you come from, but I am glad you are here."
In another of his recorded sessions, he says:
"This system is not for everybody. But there are 20,000,000 golfers...do you suppose we could get a million of'em?"
Welcome Paul! I unfortunately don't know the man, but I've seen video of his swing and it is extremely pure!

The reason you can't sustain the lag is because you are so eager to make the club move fast (a reaction to the intent of "hitting it far"). So on a full shot you throw it away too early, which doesn't happen for your short chip. (bts)
