Legitimate approach or another band-aid / compensation?
I made a small change in the past week and my ball striking during some prolonged practice sessions has improved dramatically. I have not taken the change to the course yet but will play quite a bit over the weekend.

I was working on setting a nuetral left hand grip using techniques from Chuck E. and Redgoat. I started making some short swings with only my left arm and stopping near the point of both arms straight. It seemed easier to hinge and swivel with a more nuetral grip. What I did next is just reach out and place my right hand on the club in a conventional looking but natural and comfortable way. I brought both hands back to adjusted address and my grip was quite different. Going to impact fix seemed more natural also but when I actually hit some balls, POW! Distance, accuracy and lag all improved.

I have "discovered" things like this in the past and the improvement did not last long. Has anyone used such an approach to establishing a good grip?
