The only contribution I can make is that even though the disc problem may seem not to be a problem, the depression of the vertebrae is. As the disc deteriorates you loose the space between the vertebrae which means you loose mobility in every direction. The only way to decompress your vertebrae is to have proper and significant muscle tensions that allow for your body to turn and bend and twist in full range of motion. Pain is not the only deterrant to function so get your strength program sound. Pay more attention to re-learning an ability to move your extremities without impacting the core. This strengthens the core muscles ability to maintain a neutral spine with maximal capability. This is often counterintuitive for many people. Make sure you have the same function on your left as your right even though your game will require a one sided preference. This allows your body to recover to neutrality between shots instead of permeating your tension to an imbalanced posture. Alignment is the secret to a free flowing body in life and in golf. Don't let your age determine your expectations of your body.Let your health and your function determine the work you need to accomplish your goals.
