Anyway, I can’t resist another go at this! Could it be that the left palm lies on the plane, but not always the same part of the left palm – remember, it is curled around the grip. To illustrate – you can think of a flat plane, but you can also think of a line on that plane that the left palm follows. It could be curved, but let’s imagine for the sake of argument that it’s straight. In that case you could imagine it being a broom handle extending to the top of the stroke. The swinger turns their left hand and grasps the broom handle, and then slides their left hand up to the top, keeping a flat left wrist. Because they are constantly holding the broom handle their left palm is on plane, but the further up (and in) they go, the more the left hand rotates slightly to maintain the flat left wrist. At the top (part of) the left palm is still on the plane, but the part of the left palm that was originally on plane is now facing slightly behind the player. I don’t know if this is right, but it is the only way I can imagine at the top: 1. a flat left wrist 2. the left arm off plane 3. the left palm (or at least part of it) laying on the plane Chris ChrisNZ View Public Profile Send a private message to ChrisNZ Find all posts by ChrisNZ
