I am new to TGM through this site (about 6 months ago). I have played for about 27 years (off and on, boy I am I getting old). I swing and never even knew you were supposed to use your right arm until I discovered TGM (always believed right arm was evil). Of course I knew nothing about flying wedges, hinge action or educated hands. I played with a neutral grip and hit straight, fades, and wicked slices (on a bad day).
My question is this: Does the downswing flatten and if so, what flattens it? I thought the lateral move (removing slack) did that buy my brother in law says no way. He says to push your hands back and down as you begin your downswing. Of course, I can't do that......to tell the truth it feels strange and uncomfortable. Is it extension action of the right arm? I just don't know.
Of course, my buddies have lots and lots of theories on this and how to accomplish it.
I want some real help from some TGM versed folks....you know, the real knowledge.
Any help would be appreciated from the TGM community at large.
