My guess is that no one can answer this question for you. It's an individual thing. Although, I'm not sure you have to get a heavier club to assist in tempo, you might find a heavier club easier to hit on center and perhaps longer. I am a 'new' hitter, and I recently was fitted for irons... I wanted lighter and weaker shafts, but that didn't allow on-center hits or consistency. I was fitted for heavier and stiffer. It worked, since my on center hits have improved. My driver is D3 swingwt. (a Taylor R7 TP) but the static wt. of the club is probably pretty light since it has a Fuji SIX in it. I'm actually pretty happy with it and I don't think I need a heavier static wt. I hit it on center fairly often, and I hit it without too much curvature when I'm on my game. I could imagine someone younger and stronger needing a heavier club however, when hitting. I'm guessing you need to monitor some range sessions with impact tape and try some heavier shafts, because the answer could vary widely depending on the individual.
