If I'm a hitter, would you reccomend Ben Doyle's video? Does he teach a swinging procedure? I have all of the Manzella videos and he seems more of a swinger as well. Otherwise, I'm thinking about Chuck Evan's and of course Yoda's when it comes out? Any opinions?
Here is my 2 cents. I am also primarily a hitter, but have been experimenting with swinging with longer clubs. Soooooo, Ben Doyle's video does show a swinging procedure, but SO much more. All of the components are demonstrated and explained, etc. He is the 1st Authorized Instructor of the Golfing Machine. If only for historical significance I think EVERY TGM student should own a copy of his video. When you call to order it HE answers the phone and will talk to you a little bit. And when the video arrives he has autographed it. It is a classic (in my humble opinion). Buy it.( He donates some of the purchase price to various charities.)
I also have all of Brian's videos as well------very good material. He was trained by Ben Doyle so some is similar, but he has a different method of presentation and, if I am not mistaken, differs in a few areas. He does have a little hitting in some of his videos.
I have Chuck Evans video (it is on DVD as well) and it is basic TGM without any TGM terms discussed---and it is a swinging procedure presented. If you subscribe to his site he has a number of 2-3 minute videos----a number of these compare swinging vs hitting and are, overall, excellent.
I'm sure you have checked out the gallery section on this site which has a wealth of information on hitting, swinging, 12-5-0,bunker play, Tomasello.....you get the point. And it is free.I join you and perhaps a couple of thousand others while we await the new DVD's Lynn has coming out. You just know they will be awesome---the guys who had a sneak peak a couple of months ago already said so! For now, join me as I study the clip of Ted Fort hitting his pitching wedge, the side-by-side of Lynn and Ted hitting drivers, and the clip of Lynn giving a driver demonstration in the cold weather where he "hits" a number of shots and then changes to swinging. And wait for the new stuff from the green guy.
Hope this answers some things for you,curtisj76----that's the way I see it in my early journey in TGM. PM me if I can be more specific. Now, if I can only get our moron quarterback to quit riding a motorcycle............ Dr Dave
I would love to view the videos online. However, my only access to a PC is at work and for some reason I cannot view the WMV's. I also cannot install anything so I can view them.
My only hope is to buy DVD's. I also wish that Ben's came in a DVD format.
Well I just got off the phone with Ben Doyle. I was shocked when he answered the phone "Hello this is Ben" Just to let everyone know he does have it on DVD now. He's sending it tomorrow. I'm pumped!! Nice guy, we chated for a few minutes, he asked me my hdcp, etc.. Wow, I still can't believe it. Now if I could just get those files to play I would be set!!
I have his video on VHS and you are right on about Ben and the video. I highly recommend the video and Ben is super nice.
I got my video over a year ago, and he autographed it and two copies of TGM that I ordered at the same time(6th editions). He signed one book to my son and specified on the blank cover page, how to use the book. It is cool and my son loved it for his birthday.
Mine is autographed and he has some key passages highlighted (I mentioned my problem with over the top and flipping).
Neat stuff from a great guy.

private lesson's with ben are truly memorable....he has forgotten more about the golf swing than the next 20 guys put together.....it's a total immersion in G.O.L.F and when you come out at the other end, your personal golfing machine will be tuned up and ready to run....
Meeting Ben in Canton was a delight. He's a legend. It was a pleasure to teach with him. He is humble and cares about others and their improvement in G.O.L.F. He is the antithesis of pretentious, and I was blessed to have met him.
As far as teaching Swinging and/or Hitting, I would ask Ben about his approach. Since he is so easily accessible, I'm sure he would be happy to answer. From what I gathered in our meeting, Swinging is his passion.

Hi HG, I might get slammed for this but I do not think it's worth 100 bucks. I received the DVD but the quality was horrible. It skipped and froze the entire length. I called Ben right away and he asked me to send it back to him. In return, he mailed me the VHS version which I really didn't want. He never asked to pay for the shipping that came out of my pocket to send the DVD back either. I've only watched it once and I don't have any urge to watch it again. I'm sure others will hop in and say the opposite...........but this is my opinion. Thanks
PS Here's a few that I like: Manzella, Evans, and Jacobs. Also Yoda's when it comes out. Haven't heard anything about it but I'll buy it in a heartbeat.
