Sunday, June 5 – Final day of School

Instructors

Chuck Evans, G.S.E.D.

Since 1975, Chuck has established his reputation as one of the nation's premier golf teaching professionals. He has worked individually with thousands of players from novice to Tour Professional and taught countless others in group presentations, including more than 200,000 during a two-year tour as Director of Instruction with the United States Golf Institute. An 'Instructor's Instructor,' Chuck has conducted numerous workshops, seminars, and education classes for the PGA, LPGA, and European PGA. He is author of the new book How To Build YOUR Golf Swing and his two-volume video series has sold more than 10,000 copies. Chuck's revolutionary teaching approach is grounded in his 21-year study of The Golfing Machine, Homer Kelley's definitive work on the science and procedure of all golf strokes. In 1995, he was awarded the designation Doctorate, Golf Stroke Engineering, one of only 21 professionals to earn that honor since its inception in 1979. Chuck's website offers valuable information for golfers of all levels and may be accessed at www.chuckevansgolf.com/forum.

Yoda, G.S.E.D.

In the summer of 1980, Yoda was an avid amateur golfer who had hit the wall in his study of The Golfing Machine. His only recourse was to telephone the author, Homer Kelley himself. Thus began the student-teacher relationship that was to last until Mr. Kelley's death in February 1983. Many more calls followed over the next 18 months, with Homer patiently explaining the science and principles behind his great work, and Yoda eagerly absorbing his lessons. The instruction reached its pinnacle in January 1982 when Homer invited Yoda to attend his weeklong Golf Stroke Engineering Master class. The invitation was extended to a select group of only five -- one each from the North, South, East, West and Midwest. It was to be the second of only three Master classes Mr. Kelley lived to conduct, and Yoda was one of only twelve to graduate from these classes. In the 32 months following his Master Instructor designation -- and while continuing his financial business -- Yoda conducted more than forty golf schools in six states. He personally taught more than 600 students and several thousand more in promotional seminars. He also individually trained 28 PGA professionals in the same system Homer had taught him. In October 1984, though his golf business was successful by any definition, he returned full-time to his financial world. Twenty years later, Yoda has returned as an authoritative voice of The Golfing Machine. Other than the work of Homer Kelley himself, his body of work since January 10, 2004, is unprecedented in the history of The Golfing Machine. His archives may be viewed at www.chuckevansgolf.com/forum

Carey G. Mumford

For the past 23 years, Carey Mumford has used his energy and background to encourage and support the competence of those who manage, teach and play the game of golf. Prior to that time, he was involved with services to people, first through hospital chaplaincy and then in counseling and coaching for human resource development. His devotion to that challenge has been constant.

During the several years he gave to human resource development for a major Sunbelt resort/recreation developer, he was often sought out by golf professionals, club managers and others associated with the game, for help with their various tasks. His understanding of human behavior, self-management and stress reduction were most welcome among the resources they wanted.

That led to an invitation from the PGA of America, as they began their advanced education program, to serve on the faculty for the duration of the school. In addition, he has conducted playing and teaching clinics and workshops across the country and in Canada, and regularly coaches amateur and professional players, assisting them with the mental skills that influence building effective habits and playing the game.
He also assists corporate groups with both systems and human resource issues, concerns and developmental needs.

In their special issue on the mental game in 1990, Golf Magazine recognized him among the top dozen golf psychologists in the country, and Golf World Magazine devoted two pages to his second book (The Double Connexion) in the Pro-Report section of their June 19, 1992 issue.
His unique approach to the mental game has earned wide acceptance among golf professionals, largely because it goes beyond "what" ought to happen and shows "how" it is implemented and used by any player or instructor. Unnecessary complications are removed in the process by integrating principles of behavior, psychology and physiology. Thus teachers and players have "user-friendly" resources to reshape widely held, though misleading, notions that have unwittingly influenced players to "shoot themselves in the foot."

Two of the books he has written, GOLF'S BEST KEPT SECRET and THE DOUBLE CONNEXION, describe the context of "playing the game within yourself" and the natural principles and processes essential to balance and integrate mental and manual skills. That allows players to move naturally, and without hindrance, from the practice tee to the golf course. The applications to life and work are equally present also. It was the cross-currents of common denominators in these seemingly dissimilar arenas that stimulated both books. He has two other books, "The Putting Book," and "The Mental Game."

He has faced more than 22,000 of the Class A Member Professionals of the PGA, conducted in excess of 200 clinics for amateurs and professionals in 30 states and Canada, and worked individually with over 100 players on the PGA, LPGA, Seniors, Nike, TC Jordan, Hooters, Futures, and Mini Tours.

Participants are responsible for their own travel.

Other Surprises

I am looking into another evening where we will have a small gathering. I will keep everyone posted.

Enrollment Fee

Due to the unique arrangements and options that the Guesthouse provides, it was necessary that I create 3 price points. The first price listed includes School plus double occupancy in the Guesthouse (you need a friend). The second price is School plus single occupancy. The third rate is for the School only. All those in attendance will receive:

• Lunch
• Pizza Party
• All range balls and fees
• 9 holes of golf with on course assistance
• 18 holes of golf with on course assistance
• Doughnuts/Breakfast snacks
• School supplies
• Classroom instruction

School + Dbl. Occupancy (Guesthouse) = $1395
School + Sgl. Occupancy (Guesthouse) = $1595
School Only = $1195

What do you need to bring?

You bring your clubs, shoes, and desire. I will also request that you bring a tape which I will provide information on at a later date. The plan for the tape is it to be tour personal procedure, your swing; your drill. It will be your individualized plan for golf improvement. I will convert the tape into a DVD format which you will receive once you arrive home.

Other than the above, we’ll supply the rest!

Cancellations

A non-refundable $250 processing fee will be charged for termination requests prior to Friday, May 6th. Terminations after that date will be subject to the full fee.

Enrollment Procedure

Enrollment is on a first come first serve basis which is for both the Golf School and the Guesthouse. There is a limit of how many students we can fit into the classes. The order will be kept by when I receive your email that the check is in the mail or a request of a specific invoice.

For those who are looking to use the Guesthouse arrangement, when the Guesthouse becomes full, I will alert those who would like to use that option and we can communicate by seeing who is a single and speaking with them or we can discuss other options for rooms.

Please keep in mind that I am not in front of my computer all the time though sometimes this may seem the case.

Please send check or money order to:

Randy Sparks
179 Bonaire Blvd.
Destin, Florida 32550

Another payment option is via my paypal account I have setup. When you decide which one of the three arrangements you would like, please email me and I will email back a payment invoice. Paypal is not necessarily my favorite.

Thanks
Thanks Lynn for posting.

As I have stated elsewhere, there was the initial influx of those who were interested in the Bash. Interest now has waned and we are now left with spots still available. The number that it will take falls short of that which will make it a go. There were a couple of inquiries and commits made today.

I am open to all suggestions that anyone has but I must say that for me to adjust much in pricing I would need to possibly reduce the amount of instructors and presenters which I would strugle to do. I am of the mindset that if you cannot do it right then do not do it at all. The "right" is what I perceive. The other option would be an influx of cash on my part which I am considering at this time. I find this to be an important Bash event.

I will keep all informed of what I come up with after I evaluate some of the input I have received in the last 24 hours.

Thanks for everyone's time and consideration.

Randy

Why Do I Do What I Do & Whats The Point!
As some of you may know, this whole Bash thing has become quite problematic for me. My attempt was to create an experience that is unparalleled in golf instruction. On that point it appears that I am failing miserably or at least the level that I expect. Though I cannot control the weather and I have not yet built the so called "Great Teaching Facility" I doubt if there is anyone and anywhere that can offer what this lil' party can offer. Heck, just to hangout with me is worth the price of admission. But I do not nor do I have the time to hangout so I had to get some help. I bring in Chuck, Lynn and Dr. Carey and it appears it just is not good enough. Go figure!

Here is the deal. This is very important for me to pull this off. Like I stated earlier, I made a commit to those who attended the St. Augustine Workshop. Being a man of my word and a quite charitable person, I will step up to the plate and continue to do my best for this even to take place. How? Darn if I know. I guess this is, "Hello rubber meet the road."

I have adjusted the prices:

School + Dbl. Occupancy (Guesthouse) = $1395*

School + Sgl. Occupancy (Guesthouse) = $1595*

School Only = $1195 (You find your own room)*

Please note the asterisks. I will need to make a couple of adjustments with some food things unless I am able to work out a couple of deals. Sorry...just the way it is.

For those who have paid, please contact me on how you would like me to handle the above adjustment. It would be the easiest for me to first see if this will work to fill the numbers that are needed. I will then make the corrections from there if that is ok with you.

Folks, I do not know what else to do. Maybe you got a better deal elsewhere if so good luck and I hope you get your money worth.

I can be contacted via pm or info@seascaperesort.org

Thanks

Randy

P.S. I am still open for suggestions but there is a limit. Ya' think!

Sale of the Century!
Folks, this is a BARGAIN. Considering that the two previous workshops cost about the same (I think St. Augustine was $1500) WITHOUT hotel...what else can you call it? Approximately $500 bucks per day with Chuck, Yoda, Keygolf, a hotel, and some food thrown in. A Butch Harmon 3-day golf school goes for $2900 (how much time do you think you get to spend with Butch?).

I know that a lot of you are reading the posts here and at Chuck's, and some of you are, in addition, reading the book. That is how I got started. But I never got a real understanding for how I could best use TGM to improve my game until I had a lesson with an AI. I thought I knew which Components I was using and should use, but Chuck showed me that I didn't--and at the time of my lesson, I probably had a better understanding of TGM than you do now. That is why Homer once said that he wished he could include an AI with each copy of the book he sold--there is no substitute for the AI.

So I have to ask you guys some questions: Are you doing what you think you're doing? How sure are you? Is your Horizontal Hinge really a Horizontal Hinge? Is you Right Forearm Pickup Up enough? Is it even On Plane? What's your Right Shoulder doing during the Downstroke? Are you sure that your Clubface and Left Wrist and Hand are in the correct positions at Impact Fix? Are you a Hitter or a Swinger?

For those of you who I'll see in Destin, I guarantee you that we're going to have an absolute blast, an unforgettable experience.

For those of you who can't make this time, I truly hope that you can make it to the next one (if there is one--no pressure, Randy).

How much time do you get with Butch Harmon for $2,900? I'm not saying, but if you check his website, you'll find...

It rhymes with Nero.

That particular three-day variation is taught by Staff Professionals (only). For face-time with Butch -- and the otherwise identical three-day school -- you'll have to ante up a bit more...

To be exact:

$5,100.

That would be Five Thousand One Hundred and No/100s Dollars.

Hail Caesar!

To All,

To add briefly to Galopin's comments.

I enjoyed St. Augustine so much I didn't want to leave and couldn't wait for more.

I didn't make it to Pine Needles so when Randy suggested "The Bash in Destin", I jumped on it.

Chuck and Lynn make complexities of TGM, in a word, understandable. The addition of Carey to Chuck and Lynn, makes this a tremendous Triad.

This is a must attend experience. If it is at all possible for you to attend, you will not be disappointed.

I can't wait ,

ldeit (Lee Deitrick, GSEM)

Just to say that I am seriously considering!

I am thinking of going to CA & also get in a few hours with Ben Doyle.

I am rather new to TGM, although I have tried to read the book and have seen and enjoyed Bens video "How to build a G.O.L.F. game"

If so: Would you recommend going to see Ben before Destin or after Destin?

A good guess is fine.
