I've always been confused by this, as the Tom Tomasello video seems to indicate you should try to unbend the wrist, however, he states the pivot will not allow you unbend it too much. For most folks, the right wrist should never be flat at impact (VJ is an exception to this recommendation). In fact it can be maintained in a bent position until well after impact.
