We both end up using similar flex ratings in shafts even though he is MUCH LONGER than me. We both tend to like shafts that frequency out to 265-270. Since he is swinging faster but releasing earlier the tip and overall shaft doesn't need to be so stiff because it is unloading much smoother and evenly whereas I need something that will recover fast (shafts are designed for this) and very tip stiff because my release is much later, faster, and violent. Make sense? ------------------- This is why swing speed, tempo, and where you load and how much you load the shaft is important. ------------------ Lagster As for shafts there are really all kinds of shafts available now for good prices ranging from the new Accra Tour (affordable high launch low spin tip soft shafts) to the newest range on tour Mitsubishi Diamana shafts that are ultra expensive. You really need to figure out what type of feel you like in a shaft; weight and tip feel and then work on finding the right flex. jim_0068 View Public Profile Send a private message to jim_0068 Find all posts by jim_0068
