Ball position can vary depending on stanceline,shot shape,personal preference... Basically ,you have to make impact prior to low point for a "normal" shot-with any club.Swingers will normally return to address after impact fix. There is a whole catalogue of options to vary your proceedure and I can't begin to explain my whole knowledge of the book in this post. You could almost have asked "explain the Golfing Machine".
