Here's a video from
Golf Magazine featuring
A.J. Bonar and his "Magic Move." His "Home Run" Flat Left Wrist Roll through Impact -- TGM's Horizontal Hinge Action -- has been standard fare for good-playing Swingers for centuries, but most golfers don't do it. Instead, they attempt to keep the Clubface Square to the Target -- Steering, the first Snare (3-F-7-A) -- and therefore can benefit greatly from this advice. The same is true of the advice to strike Downward through Impact -- standard stuff, but most golfers don't do it. Instead, they attempt to Scoop the Upward into the air.
Probably the most controversial part of his method is the use of the Double Wristcock (Cocked and Bent Left Wrist) at the Top. No doubt the move could be helpful for some (especially Hookers) and disastrous for others (especially Slicers). It is the same move
Ben Hogan described as his 'anti-hook' "secret" in a
Life magazine article way back in 1955. Having recently visited with A.J. in Carlsbad, California, I can tell you that the 'cupped' Wrist is minimal in his own Stroke.
