Before that, I have the same problem, clubface is open at impact for driver and 3 wood, my first guest is that due to fanning the forearm back, and due to the driver (long) it doesn't have enough time for the square up. However, when I do the same thing with 3 iron with ball on the ground, it is difficult to hit the ball, I would guess the clubface is delofted too much.
