How about the "Mechanical Advantage" that you were telling me over the phone?

Since 99% of golfers always want more distance, your exposition will be eagerly awaited by us!

For those that are not aware, Vik's student JJ recently won a Long Drive contest with other top amateurs in competition. JJ is a small lad by American standards, about 1.72m or 5'6. He won it with a blast of 314 yards.

My conclusion? Its either something in the food they eat, or something that Viki is teaching them from the Book...

Thanks Compda,

Building confidence in ones self is one of the most difficult things to do in golf. It really boils down to beleiving you can hit the good shot instead of fearing the bad one. All of us have had bad ones I repeat ALL OF US, But rarely do we have confidence in ourselves to produce the good one when it mattes most. It maybe a drive, long iron, a chip, pitch, bunker shot or even a 4 foot putt. Negativity rules and plagues the mind. One always produces a tentative execution of mental and physical ability. The fact lies in that ability of the mind to clarify the process of thinking positive and rationally. This is what I worked with on Meghna and all my other students - The power of the 'computer'.

The mechanical advantage that Lynn spoke to Meghna was the snap release. She worked on it with me for a couple of months, gained strength in her forearm and wrists to withold the release of the trigger to the max that she can presently handle and beleive me hits it 25 yards further on the driver, and that is a big advantage from her previous ability. Max trigger delay is a dangerous mention in the book and people may try to overdo it simply because MAX is what people will strive for in the swing, be it pwoer, distance or delay, so tread with caution fellas - you need to be supple and strong at the same time to use it effectively - Just like my friend JUSTIN. If you wanna see anyone WHIP it , watch him. He has posted a photo of him in that position on the forum and i have been fortunate enough to witness the cccrrraaaaack!!!.

Looking for back to back wins from Meghna who is playing again this week - presently at second position after round one in the Eastern India Championship. I am not with her as in the last win but I am sure she knows what to do to win.

As for JJ, he naturally drag loads and snap releases. He can really turn the screws loose when he wants to have a go- and so he did. 314yds into a 10mph headwind is quite a snap. Its not in the food Justin its in the hands - THE HANDS!!!

Cheers!!

Vik
