Hi Bob,

First of all you are not old and are never too old to learn the wonders of The Golfing Machine. Left shots happen because that is where the clubface is looking when the ball leaves it (separation). Understanding that impact and separation are two different points will help. You need to impact the inside aft quadrant of the ball, not the back of the ball. Also, remember that you are trying to drive the ball into the ground (the club going to low point after the ball is impacted) not into the air. Both can be accomplished by having your hands further forward at impact.

Why the lefts are happening could be a number of reasons: a bent left wrist at impact, an over-roll, club-head throwaway.....

Are you a swinger or a hitter?

Where are you physically sore when this happens?
