The 'standard' flail as Tomasello demonstrates allows the 'clubhead' to pass the hands. The 'golfer's' flail has a hinge pin that only permits cocking and rotating and doesn't allow a bent left wrist. I think the demonstration is valid. The "clubhead" could pass the hands if the pivot motion is interrupted. That's what would happen with a real club and real human wrists.
