The way to avoid your right shoulder from being thrown off plane is to resist the pull from the left hip. This resistance is what causes the stretching. I can hold a rubber band between my hands and pull with the left while keeping my right hand in place. I will feel the pull but not give in to it until I want to release the power.

Extensor Action 'pushing' to the
right (and thereby
stretching the Left Arm) and the Left Hip Loading the Lag by 'bumping' to the
left in the Start Down (8-7), the stage is set for the
Four Stages of
Downstroke Acceleration:
Shoulder Acceleration (Start Down / 8-7)...
Hand Acceleration (Downstroke / 8-8 )....
Club Acceleration (Release / 8-9)...
Ball Acceleration (Impact / 8-10)!
