On the downswing, with shaft parallel to the ground
On the downswing, with the shaft parallel to the ground, the clubshaft is supposed to be pointing on a line parallel to the target line, right?
on the butt end of the club, I use the Butch Harmon laser.
I've used it in the hallway at my friend's condo. The laser is strong enough to show up on the wall about 25 yards from where I am standing.
when I'm using a "Swing" motion, I really feel like I'm using the rope-handle swing thought.
I find that the only way that i can have the clubshaft pointing correctly at this position, is to have the leading edge of the clubface pointing perpendicular to the ground.
However, if my clubface is pointing a little closed instead of straight up, then I notice that my clubshaft tends to get slightly outside. I can hardly sense the difference, but when I look on the wall 80 feet away, i can tell that the clubshaft is not parallel to the target line.
Question:
what do you think of this? Am i doing something wrong? is it normal for the leading edge to be pointing straight up at this point of the downswing?
