Here is a point to remember....Hands don't move Hands (you monitor the stroke with your hands...through pressure points, especially the number 3 pressure point).

Ok i've done the reading and i think i realise where i've gone wrong.
Using the hands to control the pivot doesn't mean they physically move the body, just that it's the hands not the pivot being monitored which gives you more acurate feedback as to whether your pivoting correctly.

Is this right?
Yes, You've got it.
That's a major hurdle for most golfers new to TGM.
Now...study section 2-N-1 and key in on the phrase "Hip Slide" for the correct pivot motion at the "Beginning" of the downstroke....then go to section 2-0 and try to grasp the concept of the Three Basic Essentials and Three Basic Imperatives while at the same time study the picture in section 1-L of the "Machine" and observe where the plane line is....then read the 21 facts in 1-L again. In fact, I would study the 21 facts until you have a working knowledge of them...this will put one on the road to precision golf...it's worth the study.

Noting the location of the horizontal hinge pin and considering the glossary plane line (golf) definition, is the intent of the picture to show where the plane line is or that there are plane lines? Using the book photos containing the plane Mr. Kelley constructed, one could conclude 1-L illustrates the shaft plane line. The glossary definition however has the plane line passing through the ball location. Of course there is an impact plane line and a low point plane line, both using the sweet spot plane.
