Interestingly enough, by putting the ball well ahead of low point and then swinging up on it, there will be no disruption to the orbit of the clubhead.

You will indeed hit the ball further, but at the expense of less control due to diminished backspin.

I was under the impression that with the driver we were supposed to catch the ball right at low point or perhaps just a smidge in front of that. Right or wrong or depends who you talk to??? Thanks.

You're prolly more likely to Bend your LWrist too right? Especially for beginners...

If you place the ball before low point, you will have to either bend your left wrist or drop your right side back and down to hit up on the ball.
