Ben Jackson gave me the 2 mph hip speed. I do not know where he obtained this information. I would guess using high speed film you could figure it out .

The book is interesting in that many professional players when working on the range say they are working on their timing and tempo but they could not describe what they meant and only a few were using metronomes. So he studied videos and found out the pga pros tempo tended to be much faster than average amateurs. He also found that the pros downswing time was 3 times their backswing times. He looked at filmed footage and could correlate some bad shots when either the players overall time or the 3 to 1 ratio was not followed. He has helped many amateurs improve by just having them work on increasing their overall tempo and get that 3 to 1 beat. John Novell has a scientific background but he acknowledges that the facts that back up his claims is the studies of the numerous good and not so good players that he has measured. For $3000 you can get a lesson from Novell in the state of Kansas.

Thanks Dave- I'll check out the book. Does it cover in there - Tigers faster pivot versus Vj's?

P.S. That lesson price sounds like a good deal. I'm currently charging $15,000 for a 1/2 day lesson and Bucket's charging $500,000 for an hour lesson. PM Bucket to check on his availability.
