How do I stop my lower body from outracing my upper?

I think it's natrual to try to hit the long irons and woods harder. I know for me, I have the tendency to "hit from the top" with these clubs.

The thing that helps me is to think "slow start-down". It should be the same action you use for your short irons.

By the way, Tiger has this problem with his driver. His body starts moving so fast that the club gets stuck behind him and he hits those massive blocks to the right.
