I remember some of the Long Putts. We couldn't see past 20 feet. After you struck the Ball, everyone got silent so we could hear the ball drop into the cup.

Not too easy when it's dark and you can't see the hole and you're Left Hand is clenching your 4th Martini and you're trying not to spill and you're down 3-2 and your partner is putting pressure on you because this is the 5th Championship Round and we don't want to lose another one going into the Final Grand Championship Round which will decide which 2 players will have a playoff and be "Crowned" "World Putting Champion" later that night!!!!! And Win The British Open

It's kinda like the pressure Phil was under before he missed that putt yesterday during the play-off hole on 18. Remember? Hmm?

You did indeed do much of the 'heavy lifting' during that crucial period when TGM was earning its spurs in cyberspace. Including, I might add, educating me about the 'lay of the land' -- the various sites and posting personalities -- that populated this corner of the world. I had been away from golf for 20 years and knew absolutely nothing of the various golf websites, much less this funky thing called 'posting'. I, for one, am grateful for the many thankless hours you put in establishing the basecamp and keeping things humming along the way.

It's now been four years since my first posts on the old TGM site run by you and Randy. By then, Chuck had already started his own site (with Randy as Admin), and I was to learn of it a couple of weeks later. I posted on both sites until Bagger, Trig and I formed this site almost exactly one year later. By the grace of God, Bambam appeared during that first year, and the rest, as they say, is history.

It was Mike O who called out of the blue in December 2003 and told me about the TGM site. I logged on for the first time (and made my first post) on January 11, 2004. Ironically, I would later discover that this was 22 years to the day from when I stepped off the airplane in Seattle, Washington and came face to face with Homer Kelley.

In one sense, it seems all this happened only yesterday, and in another, a lifetime ago. In fact, for me, it has been a lifetime, because mine has so radically changed since then.

Who'da ever thunk it?

Yes sir...the good ole days. Funny how that happens.

And thank you for your gratitude, I too, owe you a ton of thanks and am grateful I have a home on the net to come back to even when I stray.

I hope I did not come off as - pompous - I meant not to. MBC just kicked up some memories!!! The 'heavy lifting' was a labor of love - I can still remember questioning, prying....ok, lets be honest, interrogating and not getting the wedges at all!!!

And you and I talking on the phone - the lay of the land conversation. And your first 'trip' back to TGM, and me hanging with Henning and me trying not to give up the secret that you were making an appearance (I must confess, I did say someone was coming in - just didnt say who).

The date - 22 years to the day - is unbelievable. I mean, jaw dropping unbelievable. You're problably sitting home, watching the Falcons lose again (sorry, had to get that in there), and this lunatic from Cali calls. Amazing. And now, after all these years, you're doing something you love. Not to say you didnt love your profession - but I mean, you are now involved in something that obviously lights a fire in you.

22 years to the day. Amazing. Didnt someone say there are no coincidences?

Wow.

Thanks to all as well...I missed some names (not intentionally - I'm not the sharpest spoon in the drawer!) - a gentleman named Jaminid that was stuck in 2-g for 2 years, ldeit - as well as others.

Patrick

Hmmm...

Ok, you got me.

Date please. I am due for a Pinehurst trip anyways.

A few conditions.

1. Me and ecox eat at the same restaraunt the lady took his plate in mid bite.
2. Me and ecox eat at the same restaraunt the waiting insisting on twirling and cutting my spaghetti (literally).

Last but not least.....

Mike O makes an appearance (we can let him slide on the reunion!)

Oh yeah, and Mike.....

Leave the lotion home - no need for it - 12 piece lives down there.

YEAH! Take that, and that. Uppercut, left left, right hook.....

Well it is beginning to sound like a large Georgia contingent is planning on being there. In that case, count me in! Someone will have to bunk with the
golfgnome, to bad bucket. I attended the Hombre school last year as a silent observer, Thank you Adam Brack and Billy McDonald.

I remember very vividly when Yoda came out of retirement. He was described as "probably" the most knowledgeable person of TGM. After just a few minutes of listening to Yoda, I told my business partner to remove the "probably".

Yoda, start working on that schedule, Pinehurst here we come.

Ok, I gotta let some cats out of the bag.

In my previous post (somewhere) I think I put Lynn up there as 1 of the 2 (in my book) most knowledgable. However - this is tough. Like saying, who was smarter, Franklin or Einstein, Borh of Eindstein - Oppenheimer or.....

Since you have listened (or met) to Yoda, your feeling is justified. I concur. Hands down, in my book (that damn book is getting thick!), the best teacher (not just in the golfworld) I have ever met. His charisma, communication, demonstration - better yet - simplification is second to none.

However, I would like to - how should I say it - got it - nominate a few others, who in my book (that damn book again - maybe I should publish it), are in the top 10 worldwide and who possibly could be in attendence.

Mike O.
Ecox. (I know, he rarely posts and perhaps alot of people dont know him and he hasnt committed, but i assure you - he'll be there in some fashion!)

You could fill up the grand canyon with the wealth of knowledge these three posess in relationship to golf, not just TGM, golf. (period - see the period? but I also meant it literally, period - ok, getting goofy now).

Wow. This could be an alltimer. One for the ages. 3 gentlemen - one whom studied with Homer, one whom studied with Tomasello, and one whom met Homer and then studied with one of Homers top two protege's.

I am in. If I'm broke - I'll sleep on my 10 speed schwinn (yes, I still have cards in my spokes). I wouldnt miss this for the world.

Not sure what everyone had in mind as far as class size....but folks, if this comes to fruition and all three are there - dont miss this. Trust me.

The Golfing Machine Book? - $19.95
Lynn's forum? - Free
CDs of Homer? - no comment (pm me).
The reunion?

Priceless
