Christmas Wish List
Here's mine. Anyone with a little extra time and cash just PM me.

1.) A set of fitted HG clubs guaranteed to hit every fairway and green.

2.) A dozen balls that never find a hiding spot.

3.) A snap release without giving up my weight training.

4.) Tiger giving up on Haney and learning G.O.L.F. from...you guessed it.

5.) My home club championship trophy.

Your turn.

You need to re-prioritize those - if Santa delivers on #3, you'll get #1 and #4, too!

my wish list
In no particular order...
1. To shoot under par in a 2 day, PGA Section event, this year.
2. To learn more about G.O.L.F. from the Master.
3. To improve my hitting technique
4. To help others improve in G.O.L.F.
5. To become exempt for the GA Open and Atlanta Open

Wait a minute!!!!!!!!!
I've done all those things!!!!!!!!!!
But, I never would have done them without my friend, the myth, the legend, the master, YODA! Some have to wake up every morning and look in the mirror and tell THEMSELVES and OTHERS, "I'm the greatest, I'm the greatest, I'm the greatest." Yoda wakes up every morning with guys like me saying, "you're the greatest, you're the greatest, you're the greatest!" Some have industrial strength ego. Some have industrial strength know-how. I'll take the latter, and that's what I've already received for Christmas, in Lynn Blake. Thank you Yoda for all that you've done for me and for all you continue to do.
Your biggest supporter and friend,
Ted Fort

Homer Kelley wrote, "The instructor can only inform and explain--the student must absorb and apply."

And you've definitely done your share this year, Ted. I am proud of you! Not only for what you have accomplished in your own game, but for what you do every day for your students.

And you're right: I have never viewed golf instruction as a competition. It would be nice to make the various 'Top Instructors' lists at some point, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I am not saying that the goal to be "#1" is wrong. Properly pursued, striving to be "the best" is always a worthy goal.

But...I am concerned only with being "the best" I can be. It is not my mission to be better than 'you'. The truth is that there will always be greater and lesser persons against whom to measure ourselves. In fact, if I can help you become the best you can be, then I want to do it. And if that makes you better than me, well then, good deal. Mission accomplished!

In my golf life, here's what's important to me:

-- The success of my students.

-- The respect of my peers.

-- The continued, selfless allegiance of those who help me every day to deliver our message to the golf world.

These three things get me out of bed each morning and tap-dancing to the keyboard and lesson tee. To wake up every day knowing you can do a little something that makes a difference is what it's all about. And that job well done results in the sudden rush of self-esteem we call happiness.

The pursuit of same is the promise of America, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve.

I just heard about TGM so....
my christmas wish list would be:

1) to get my yellow book in (should arrive next week)and learn some terminology and techniques

2) to talk to Ted more about this TGM stuff

3) to understand how to help myself get better by understanding the swing better - right now from reading all I know is that I'm a hitter

4) to find out what everybody is talking about when they talk about dowels (?), impact bags, and laser pointers
