Just a quick note to let everyone know how much I enjoyed this site and how much I’ve learned over the last month.
I was seeing a local instructor who has moved my game forward a lot. He is not an AI, but uses many of the TGM terms and philosophies. He also talks a lot about the teaching of Ben Doyle. In many ways, hearing his information and the information on this forum is like translating different dialects of a foreign language. The nomenclature is different, but similar enough to understand it’s the same concept.
While things have progressed well, I had to share with Lynn about a month ago how so many of the things he taught me clicked after seeing the information on this site. (the flying wedges, importance of the right forearm.) The coup de grace was Ted Fort’s Hitting stroke post. Comparing the pics on that page to video my own swing I recognized how long my backswing had gotten.
<warning, I know the following is going to sound hopelessly ignorant, but I can only describe how it feels to me.>
After watching his video, I made a couple of small adjustments. Now I just focus on my right forearm staying on plane at the takeaway and have a solid coil until my hands are slightly above my shoulder. It feels like I’m all loaded up, with a flat left wrist and bent right wrist. From there I just unwind the hips and fire with my forearm tracing the path. I have had some of the absolute best ballstriking of my life with every club. I used to fight the hooks as I almost flipped at the ball. Now everything is dead straight. And the cool thing is how easily it applies to every club and partial swings. As long as I stay extended and get my hands into an impact fix at the top, I can come right down and pure the ball 95% of the time.
I’m looking forward to getting the book and continuing to the visit the site. Thanks everyone for making this game a ton easier for me.

Dunno about other people, but it seems to me that you just succinctly described a beautiful swinging motion. Congrats, looks like it's mostly sunny skies for you
