Ive been viewing the post's on this great forum for a while and couldnt stand it any longer. I had to pick the brains of you guys eventually. A little background first and I'll try to keep it as short as possible.
This is my 3rd year playing G.O.L.F Ive tried about every swing known to man in that 3 years. Best score to date was a 79 on a decent course, but Im about a 14 hcp. avg. And very inconsistent.
Ive recently been having success w/ a Fred Couples type swing.
Very stable lower body, big turn, high hands, etc. I take the club outside on the BS and loop inside on the DS. My left wrist is cupped at the top. The downswing is a blur, I whip my wrists through impact, and I just kill the ball swinging this way, but we'll see how long my back last swinging like this. My misses are hooks/pulls, probably because of the Bertha iron offset combined with an inside out swing path.
Does Homer cover elements of a "Freddie type" swing in the yellow book?
I gotta think my wrist is flat at impact to be able to hit 190 yard 5 irons routinely. Having said that Ive also toyed w/ a "hittting" stroke that doesnt go quite as far but is typically more accurate, and I really like the trajectory.
I spoke to Chuck Evans and when I told him I was interested in geting the Yellow book and he said to just surf this site and his site and I would get just as much info and not get confused.
I dont understand a lot of the technical jargon and feel to make worthwhile post's, I need to know what you guys are talking about. Would you suggest I get the BOOK?
