Looks like TGC is 'starting' to get it....
Hank Johnson last week.... TGM.... educated hands, clubface, clubhead, clubshaft

Even Martino this week..... educated hands and 'tic tac toe' of hinge action practice....

And yet none mention Homer or TGM directly, which is a real shame. I thought Hank was going to at few points, one of the better TGC shows in some time....

The tipping point is on the way.... =D>

Agree with you EdZ---caught Hank Johnson last week but missed Rick Martino last night. However, I remember from prior TGC shows that Martino kept saying, " the swing goes down, out, and forward" a number of times. If I remember correctly didn't Mr. Martino announce within the past year that the PGA had come to the conclusion that clubhead lag was really important! ?? Better late than never, but sure would be nice if they mentioned HK at least ONCE. If the tide is truly changing I think TGM will be the tsunami of golf instruction---I hope. Dr. Dave

Hank's was the better of the two shows, but it was nice to see Martino making TGM references - even if indirect.

Ur sure they were TGM references? It's not like you were just relating it to TGM cause you know TGM or something?

I didn't see the show.

Hammerin' Hank
I had dinner with Hank Johnson after a Teaching and Coaching Summit here in Massachusetts. He believes in TGM. He also credits Mr. Kelley in his book Winning the Three Games of Golf (I think that is the title).

He is as nice as he appears to be on T.V.

I think the golf channel has a seven second delay button in case anyone says "The Golfing Machine" or Homer Kelley."

So educated hands is a TGM-only phrase then? Cool.

Only? No. But Homer first used the term and CONCEPT that the hands are the center of the swing universe and that they need to be educated. If a golf instructor used the phrase "educated hands" he was exposed to TGM, directly or indirectly.

It is within the nature of the yellow book's catalog feature to relate any or all swing components to TGM.. One could watch (good) instruction and recognize its TGM senseabilities but since the Golfing Machine isn’t a method by a system that instruction may not really be TGM inspired.
BUT.... Homer Kelley, in his genius, developed a unique vernacular that when used is a dead give away that someone- first hand or second hand- was exposed to TGM.

Did anyone see Martino in Impact Fix? I would have shat if he used the term in front of Kelly Tillman. He didn't but used its concept to explain the takeaway on a viewers question.
