Martin Hall on TGC
Saw a brief few minutes of Academy Live last night and Martin Hall, Moran Pressel's teacher, was on with her. I know he is an AI and presented a lot of TGM stuff in the few minutes I saw. Don't think he actually mentioned TGM (too bad) but the teaching was pretty much out of the book---talked about swing plane, clubhead throwaway, the hands controlling the clubface, etc. I just wish that he, or Chuck Cook, or any of the other "closet AI's" would speak up about TGM on TV----just ONCE!

Saw that too. He was actually talking about "the Circle lying on a Plane." Amazing!

Did you guys noticed how turned Morgan Pressel's Left Hand was. She's the poster girl for 10-2-D. He was saying how that even with "a hookers grip (no pun intended)" that she hit it straight because her hands controlled the face inspite of the grip. He said "it's only a hooker's grip if you hook it." But 10-2-D actually lends itself to cut shot procedures anyway.

I found it interesting that he was saying that she should not have her "circle pointing to the right," but it seemed that he had her off-plane when he was running her through the drills.

He even mention the position of the Right Forearm too!!!

Pressel is a player. I like Martin Hall too even though no mention to the Book.

I took my GSEB class at Martins place and he actively participated in the class. He most definitley knows the machine and has put out a good book himself as well.

I suspect he knows what he is doing by not mentioning TGM because of the "good ol' boys club" and how they would probably say bye bye Mr. Hall. As long as people like him get out there and talk the talk the word will eventually get out to the masses.

great episode and makes me even a bigger believer in TGM because Pressel is a great ballstriker. I didn't know hall was TGM, but I knew he had to have been using it with all his examples with the lasers and such.
I liked how he talked about the shoulder to the back of the camera to help stop the flip. good visual.

I always enjoy watching Hall because he is a great communicator using visuals and aids. It was a very good episode, with clear TGM influence, although I didn't care much for the 'left 1, left 2' bit.

I did notice that when Morgan hit her 3 wood, she had a bit of throwaway, which was amusing because that was what they had just been discussing

Her pattern is very solid and is one that many people would do quite well to experiment with.

She could use some Clearkeys.... it seems to me that she is the only one standing in her way at times. She can let her emotions get the best of her quickly and Clearkeys would help a ton

Martin's Book
I picked up a copy of Martin's book for a mere $6.00, including shipping, from a reseller on Amazon.com. Best 6 bucks I have spent in awhile.

It is called Martin Hall's Golf Myths Exposed.

There are two available at the moment on amazon.

(watch for URL wrapping)

The book is splattered with drills and TGM in layman's terms.

In that world The Golfing Machine® is a book publisher and an education institute and nothing else. May be interpreted such that it does not give MH either right or reason to speak for it.
